Multibuntu

Ubuntu just rolled out the new version 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" release, and users around the world are waiting for a look. This month we bring you six great Lucid Lynx variants on a single-sided, double-layer DVD.

Boot this DVD to reach the Live Ubuntu 10.04 base system. Double-click the VirtualBox OSE icon to launch a virtual version of the KDE-based Kubuntu, the Mythbuntu PVR system, or the legacy-hardware-friendly Xubuntu.

If you're looking for still more from the Ubuntu siblings, navigate to the /lmi directory on the DVD for ISO images of Lubuntu 10.04 and Ubuntu Studio 10.04. Use your favorite burner app to burn the ISO to a DVD (be sure to use a "Burn as ISO" option - don't just copy the file), then boot to the disc to install Lubuntu or Ubuntu Studio.

DVD Boot

Place this DVD in the drive and restart your system. If your computer doesn't start, make sure your BIOS is configured to boot from a DVD. Enter the BIOS setup menu (see your vendor documentation), make sure DVD boot is enabled, and make sure the DVD drive appears before the hard drive in the boot order.
