Keyboard

There are three kinds of people who are picky about keyboards: people who like vintage IBM Model Ms, people who like Happy Hacking keyboards and people who like bizarre ergonomic keyboards with bowl-shaped cavities into which you stick your hands, as if taunting some strange toothy animal. You can recognize a person who is picky about keyboards because when he or she types something on your keyboard, he or she always asks, “How can you stand this thing?”

I hooked up a Happy Hacking Keyboard Lite 2, which has the arrow keys, and a Logitech TrackMan Marble to the Monarch box, and that makes me happy—especially in vi when it helps to have Esc in the same county as the rest of the keys. If your response to that configuration is “How can you stand that thing?” go get your own favorite keyboard; this article won't change your mind.
