Entries in the following index are arranged
alphabetically by scriptable object event handlers. Look up an event
handler to find out which document objects and HTML elements support
it. This listing is a union of event handlers defined for objects in
Internet Explorer, Navigator, and the W3C DOM Level 2. The same event
handler name may mean different things for different objects. Be sure
to look up the details of the event handler listing in Chapter 9, to find if the event handler is
available for the browser(s) used by your intended audience and
whether it does what you want. Details of the events themselves are
in Chapter 10. All event handlers are listed here
in all lowercase, as they are in the rest of this book. You may use
any case combination you like when specifying the event handler as an
HTML element attribute, but you must use the all-lowercase form in
scripts for cross-browser compatibility and as HTML attributes if you
wish to validate HTML code against strict DTDs.
