In last month's Letters to the Editor, there was a letter criticizing Vince Skahan's review of Making TeX Work (December '94). Regretfully, we did not give Vince the opportunity to respond to the letter and we would like to apologize. It is our policy to give authors a chance to respond to all letters directed specifically at them.
Vince's review stated that the generic Linux user probably didn't need to purchase Making TeX Work in order to “make TeX work”. Vince also would like to clarify that he did make positive remarks on the high quality, organization, and amount of information in the book. He believes that the review was honest and fair to both the author and the readers of Linux Journal.
